Create high-impact travel images of people, cultures, architecture, food, still lifes and scenics, and produce compelling photo essays with strong storylines in this exciting course. Through lecture, class presentations, location photo shoots, and assignments, students will learn best practices in image capture, composition, lens choice, camera menu settings, use of reflectors and best equipment choices for travel photography.
Santa Barbara photographer Chuck Place is available for individual and small group photography training or tutoring. Chuck's classes draw on his thirty-five years experience as a magazine photographer, twelve years as a popular photography instructor at Brooks Institute and four years at Santa Barbara City College, as well as his experience teaching many workshops for Panasonic Cameras. Classes include such topics as Mastering Your Digital Camera, Digital Photographer's Workflow using Adobe Lightroom, Basic Photoshop, Lightroom, Travel Photography, Location Portrait Lighting, Creating Photographs With Impact, Lifestyle Photography, Food and Restaurant Photography, Photo Book Production and Stock Photography. Custom classes can also be created depending on the clients needs. Instructor fees are $100/hour for up to four students and $25/hour/student for larger groups. Maximum group size is dependent on the subject being covered and the degree of hands-on instruction required for the particular subject. Certain classes are also available through the credit program of Santa Barbara City College.
